Welcome!

So who am I, and why should you care what I have to say?

The first part is easy. I'm a drummer and a geek, hence the title. I have over 20 years of professional software engineering experience, but I've actually been programming computers since I was 8 years old.

The second part is even easier. You probably shouldn't.

Almost everything I post is likely wrong, I just haven't figured it out, yet. In my early days as an engineer, I held many beliefs about how to do things. I defended them and proselytized these beliefs to my fellow engineers all of the time. Most of them were very wrong. I learned this as I grew as an engineer. I still have ideas about how things should be done, but I know that they probably can be improved upon and someone else will know better.

What I post here is where I am at in my knowledge so far, if you see something that you know is wrong, and can back it up with objective facts to disprove it, please tell me. I am always looking to grow.

Oh, and I need a new picture up there. I look very different today than I did when that pic was taken years ago.
